R.A.D. Self-Defense Class - OSUPD Detectives Cassandra Shaffer and Cassandra Griffiths teach participants how to effectively use their elbows when defending themselves against an attacker in Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) class.

Mock Crime Scene - Students from Nicole Kraft’s Ohio State's News class take part in the latest Mock Crime Scene scenario with OSUPD. After asking questions at two press conferences following their work in the field, the students wrote a news story.

Inpatient Improvements - Construction crews put up structural steel by the steel column on the site of the Wexner Medical Center’s new inpatient hospital.

Sidewalk Safety - Safety reminders on the sidewalks around campus. They’re part of the Share the Road educational initiative to encourage pedestrians to promote safe behaviors, like keeping it cool and walking on the sidewalks!

Shining Star - OSUPD Lt. Bruce Allen received the STAR award from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. STAR stands for (S) Selflessness, (T) Teamwork, (A) Accountability, and (R) Respect.

Meal Prep Collaboration - FOD and TTM representatives spent an evening packaging meals alongside Student Life, Athletics, CFAES, OSU Extension, student groups and other volunteers as part of a university service project to support the food security in the Mahoning Valley, Youngstown area.

Community Connection - OSUPD Officers collaborated with Residence Life to host a cookout at Park-Stradley Hall. It’s an effort to interact with students in a positive atmosphere.

Be Well - Recycling and Refuse Services intern Carley Ellis and Maren Benos from Students for Recycling test Ohio State staff on their environmental know-how at the Amazing Race to Wellness! Kudos to intern Kaiya Weston for designing the recycling puzzle game.

Buckeyes for Charity - Staff members raised money for a good cause at the Buckeyes for Charity Donuts and Coffee by Dunkin Donuts event. The 12 donations from this program will make a difference in the lives of Ohioans.

Lights, Camera, Action! - Detective Cassi Shaffer advising a Channel 4 News crew that the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) self-defense classes were full. R.A.D. is a free program provided by OSUPD that teaches realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to women.
