Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

The Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) is an initiative to begin conversation and celebration of the Asian Pacific American cultures, histories, and identities. Here at The Ohio State University, we observe APAHM in January and mid-February. We want to highlight and share the personal narratives of students, staff, and faculty with this year’s APAHM theme, AHIMSA, meaning compassion and nonviolence, a pillar within Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Focusing on compassion, we ask you to reflect on your life – What does ahimsa look like to you? How can ahimsa inform the way you create and reconcile relationships? How will you live a life of compassion as you make decisions and pursue your passions?  More.
