A&People – A&P HR Shared Service Center team

The work of the A&P HR Shared Service Center team isn’t as visible as some, but their purpose is paramount.

“There are so many things that go through here, it’s really amazing,” HR associate Tracy Draudt said.

The A&P HR Shared Service Center team supports a little more than 1,200 employees within Administration and Planning.

“The best way to describe our job is completing the entire life-cycle of an employee, from when they are hired to when they leave the university,” HR Associate Avani Borade said.

One of the main functions of the A&P HR Shared Service Center is handling the processing of payroll, helping to make sure employees are paid correctly and on time. Position and pay rate changes, annual increases and contract updates are what keep them on their toes.

“We have to make sure everything is entered in for the employee so it goes through smoothly and correctly,” Borade said.

“I enjoy the payroll week because that’s a busy week for us. It’s like go, go, go with deadlines.”

Other responsibilities of A&P HR Shared Service Center team include:

  • Backend support and training for the Kronos timekeeping system
  • Processing new hires
  • System access of employees on Kronos, eTime and eLeave
  • Processing of leave payouts
  • Providing customer service on a variety of HR issues
  • Providing customer reports for management
  • Ensuring data integrity in the PeopleSoft HRIS system

The A&P HR Shared Service Center team does not handle retirement, which is one of the main responsibilities of the Office of Human Resources.
