The Women in Administration and Planning (A&P) Employee Resource Group (ERG) recently launched its inaugural event with a lively kickoff luncheon. The gathering brought together women and allies from across A&P who were eager to collaborate and learn more about the new initiative.
“I passionately believe in the power of mentorship, support and collaboration,” said Aparna Dial, senior director of sustainability and strategic services for Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) and executive sponsor of the ERG. “We are here to inspire each other, to break down barriers and to reach new heights in our careers.”
Jay Kasey, senior vice president for the Office of Administration and Planning, announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2024. He joined the university in 2007 as chief operating officer of the health system. As senior vice president, he has overseen operations and construction for major projects and initiatives, including sustainability efforts; long-range planning for Ohio State’s physical environment through three framework plans; maintenance of grounds and buildings; and important university-wide safety efforts. “Jay is a dedicated Buckeye whose accomplishments will continue to positively impact Ohio State for decades to come,” said Acting President Peter Mohler.
November's focus is on financial wellness, which encourages individuals to be fully aware of financial state and budgets and save and manage finances in order to achieve realistic goals. Through planning, budgeting and saving the financially well person develops strategies to support the life they want to live now and in the future.
No Ohio State football home game day goes by without the help of the Office of Administration and Planning. Members of the Department of Public Safety start security sweeps as early as 2 a.m. and fans are supported throughout the day by services from Facilities, Transportation and even UniPrint. The A&P Fiscal team put their cooking skills to the test alongside OSU Health Coaches Jessica Hernandez and Lindsay Atwood during an October healthy food demo event. Attendees were assigned different food prep stations and worked together to prepare a variety of delicious fall favorites. The meal celebrated the current season and included use of fresh produce like pumpkin, butternut squash, beets, arugula and fresh apples.
