Ohio State to Honor Jesse Owens

February 15, 2016 - 7 p.m. - Mershon Auditorium

Ohio State, in coordination with Focus Features, is hosting a red-carpet preview screening of the Jesse Owens biopic “Race."  Based on the true story of Owens’ quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history and his experience on the world stage of the 1936 Olympics — where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy — “Race” is an inspiring film about courage, determination, tolerance and friendship. Partially set during Owens’ time at Ohio State, with actor Stephan James (“Selma”) as Owens and Jason Sudeikis portraying Owens’ real-life coach Larry Snyder. Seating is limited. Tickets (limit two per person) are available to faculty and staff via the Wexner Center for the Arts.  MoreTickets.
