As part of the American Heart Association Heart Walk, Ohio State rallied Buckeyes to join Team Ohio State this summer in the fight against this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers, heart disease and stroke. 95 teams and 822 walkers participated, raising more than $44,000 toward research to treat and prevent heart disease, heart and strokes and to provide live-saving information to the community. Our partnership with the American Heart Association helps us to improve the health of those we serve.
The Ohio State University and Wexner Medical Center are considered national role models in the pursuit of heart health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recognized the institutions as the first in the Midwest and fourth in the nation to be designated as a Million Hearts® Health Center for their efforts to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
Thank you to all who participated and supported this year’s event. Although this year’s walk is complete, the pursuit to fund lifesaving research, education and hope continues.
