Goes Above and Beyond to: Brian Brant, Cole Chalfant, Doug Moore
| Facilities Operations and Development | From: Adam Campbell
Brian, Cole, and Doug helped to take on a the task of installing new roller shade for Fisher College of Business; this was a task that they had no experience in, but far exceeded expectations. These three helped to work on a difficult project contorting into tight spaces and continuously going up and down ladders. This was combined with constant changes to building structure and mounting points. These individuals caught on quickly, needing little instruction and made great progress on the project. Thank you all!
Goes Above and Beyond to: Central shop Plumbing crew
| Facilities Operations and Development | From: Chuck
The Central Shop Plumbing Crew and Academic District Zone 1 one pulled together to resolve a 6” broken storm drain above an office in McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. On March 11, 2026, the plumbing shop received a call that water was pouring down in an office. When Mike Canning, Brandon Petty, Jeff France, and Chuck Kaiser got to the office, Michelina Markiewicz from the zone was gathering buckets and towels to try to stop water from moving out of the office and into the hallway. Mike and Brandon climbed up into the ceiling to remove broken pipe as the water was pouring out. Tim Scott cut his lunch short to cut a piece of pipe and get a clamp to repair the broken piece. This team and zone has gone over and above several times - thank you all for that you do.
Demonstrates Resource Stewardship to: Chuck Petty , Scot Crum , Matthew Pfeifer
| Facilities Operations and Development | From: Mary Leciejewski
Matt, Scott, and Chuck went above and beyond to support a student project that received a Youth Climate Action Grant from the City of Columbus to install air quality monitors on and near campus, strengthening MORPC’s regional air quality monitoring network. The FOD team assisted by helping explain facility constraints, identifying potential installation locations with available Wi-Fi and exterior power, installing the monitors, and coordinating directly with the student team throughout the process. This project demonstrates how effective resource stewardship depends on teamwork and collaboration across departments. Their work helped provide students with hands-on learning opportunities while supporting a healthier environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
