Mission
The Integrated Physical Planning Liaison Group was formed by the Integrated Financial Planning group (IFP) in January 2009 to provide a more integrated approach to physical planning. (Read the official announcement.)
IPPLG took over the functions and budgetary authority of the Space and Facilities Committee, but also incorporated the role of the Food Service Committee, the Antenna and Wireless Committee, and many other functions related to the physical planning process at Ohio State. Today, the group:
- provides leadership for an integrated approach to the physical environment;
- reviews institutional physical planning initiatives, principles, and policies;
- supports and informs the Capital Investment Planning process, including the maintenance of the 15-year Capital Needs Index;
- advocates for institution-wide physical environment needs that lack a single home or constituency, including but not limited to utilities, civic infrastructure, and wayfinding;
- consults with and secures timely counsel from the Design Review Board (DRB), the University Senate's Committee On the Physical Environment (COPE), and other university committees and units as appropriate;
- serves as part of the executive leadership team for major academic facility projects;
- performs due diligence for and provides recommendations to IFP, the Integrated Financial Planning group;
- uses its budgetary authority to strategically advance university physical planning goals.
