Tom Holman

Director, Transportation and Traffic Management

Tom Holman serves as the director of Ohio State’s Department of Transportation and Traffic Management (TTM). In his role, Tom oversees the Campus Area Bus Service, on-demand paratransit service, charter bus service, vehicle rentals, university fleet services, traffic management for events and construction impacts, alternate transit, crosswalk analysis, and university management of the parking lease. Tom joined the university as a student in 1996 and has been with TTM ever since. He served as associate director from 2017 through 2022 before being promoted to director in January 2023.  

Tom takes pride in helping CABS grow its operations. He worked toward the transition to compressed natural gas (CNG) for the CABS fleet, including the construction of a campus CNG fueling station in 2015, and continues to lead the way in transitioning the university fleet to alternative fuels to support sustainability. Tom also led the addition of enhanced transportation service to the medical center, including patient shuttles. He was a leading voice in the adoption of mobile bus tracking, on-bus cameras and the addition of CABS OnDemand service. Tom currently serves as the chair of the Ohio Chapter of the Municipal Equipment Maintenance Association (MEMA).

Tom lives in Hillard with his wife Nicole and two children.
