Goes Above and Beyond to: Thomas Schneider

| Department of Public Safety | From: Eric Whiteside
On 4-19-24 Officer Tom Schneider came across a man stranded on campus after boarding the wrong Greyhound bus. The man was legally blind, deaf, non-verbal, and traveling across the country alone. Officer Schneider coordinated with the man's family and American Airlines to get him booked on a non-stop flight to get home. Officer Schneider transported the male to the airport and ensured he would be on the correct flight. The next day the man’s sister confirmed his safe arrival in Washington, DC.

Goes Above and Beyond to: Bryan DeVault, Darren VanWinkle

| Facilities Operations and Development | From: Ernie McVay
Bryan and Darren can be relied on every spring to hang the wayfinding signage at Ohio Stadium ensuring the graduating classes get to their correct seating location. In addition, they place signs for the reserved sections, wheelchair access seating and accessible seating, as well as special signage such as for the photographers and the press. They do all this with limited guidance and supervision since they have done it for so many years. Their help is greatly appreciated by both myself and the commencement office staff.

| Facilities Operations and Development | From: Ernie McVay
On May 1st, despite it being the first day of quick turns for residential facilities, Kevin allowed one of his staff members (Bryan Devault) to help with setting up wayfinding signage at Ohio Stadium for Spring Commencement 2024. Kevin's sacrifice in giving up a staff member during such a busy time for his areas is greatly appreciated. Bryan's 19 years of experience hanging these signs ensured the process went quickly and smoothly with all signs being placed in the correct location. This will ensure students, faculty and staff end up in the proper seating location on commencement day. On behalf of the almost 10,000 students receiving their diplomas in-person on Sunday, thank you so much Kevin!
