The Space and Sovereignty Humanities Institute Working Group and the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science welcome Kim TallBear, associate professor in the faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta, who studies the historical and ongoing roles of science and technology (technoscience) in the colonization of indigenous peoples and others. Her recent book, Native American DNA: Tribal Belonging and the False Promise of Genetic Science, examines how genetic science is co-constituted with notions of race and indigenous peoples. More.
