Fiscal Foodies

The A&P Fiscal team put their cooking skills to the test alongside OSU Health Coaches Jessica Hernandez and Lindsay Atwood during an October healthy food demo event. Attendees were assigned different food prep stations and worked together to prepare a variety of delicious fall favorites. The meal celebrated the current season and included use of fresh produce like pumpkin, butternut squash, beets, arugula and fresh apples.

Professional Development Opportunities in November

Enhance your career wellness through the Office of Administration and Planning's (A&P) Operational Excellence (OE) / Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training. A&P staff may register to attend two half-day training sessions to learn about OE and to explore their interest in participating on a process improvement team. Sessions are free to registered A&P staff.

Staff should coordinate with their supervisor about participating in advance of registration.

Cooking up Connections with A&P's D&I Council and Buckeye Wellness Innovators

A&P Buckeye Wellness Innovators teamed up with the A&P Diversity and Inclusion Council to host a cooking demo and presentation about food affordability to learn about economical, healthy food options.

FOD Supports Heart Walk, Raises Nearly $3,000

Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) Team Heart and Sole raised nearly $3,000 for the 2023 American Heart Association Central Ohio Heart Walk. Twenty-four members from Administration and Planning (A&P) and FOD made up the team, which was led by Mark Conselyea and Kristin Poldemann.

Reading Corner Resource

Transportation and Traffic Management (TTM) staff now have a new resource for reading thanks to Christy Miller, bus supervisor and Buckeye Wellness Innovator. Christy brought a bookshelf full of different genres of books and placed it in the TTM break room for use by all. Staff are encouraged to take a book or share a book for others to enjoy.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of all Americans, according to the American Heart Association. That’s why you’re encouraged to support this year’s American Heart Association 2023 Central Ohio Heart Walk on August 19 at McFerson Commons Park.

Join the A&P Step into a Healthy Heart YP4H Challenge

Get active and win up to 125 YP4H points by joining the August A&P Step into a Healthy Heart Challenge! A&P staff must track at least 84,000 steps (7,000 steps/day) from August 7-18. Registration opens August 3.

Innovator Teaches Ergonimcs Tips to Buckeye Community

In Iate June, Environmental Health and Safety's (EHS) Cathy Black, an environmental safety office and buckeye wellness innovator, was invited by Buckeye Wellness to share tips and tricks with the university community about ergonomics, the science of fitting the job to the worker. EHS has implemented an ergonomics program to focus on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal disorders associated with repetitive job duties.

Furry Friends with Facilities

In early June, Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) staff spent time with their new friend, Brienee, a Labrador Retriever with the Buckeye Paws therapy dog-handler program. FOD Buckeye Wellness Innovator Coco Kneisly coordinated the visit as way to bring joy to the team and brighten the day, while supporting staff wellness.
