Cathy Black works in Facilities Operations and Development's Environmental Health and Safety as an environmental safety officer. Her main objective and concern is the safety and well-being of the Ohio State community, with duties that include indoor air quality, ergonomics assessments, potable water sampling, mechanical shop inspection, fume hood certification on regional campus, safety training, and the PERRP (OSHA) 300 logs covering employee accident investigations. As part of the American Heart Association Heart Walk, Ohio State rallied Buckeyes to join Team Ohio State this summer in the fight against this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers, heart disease and stroke. 95 teams and 822 walkers participated, raising more than $44,000 toward research to treat and prevent heart disease, heart and strokes and to provide live-saving information to the community.
